How to Choose the Best Basketball

June 19, 2017

The most important thing you will need to consider when playing basketball would be the ball itself. You won’t be able to play without it, nor can you play properly if you use a deflated or low-quality ball. You can find hundreds of brands and models of basketballs around you, so it may be difficult to choose the best for you, especially if you are just a beginner.

To help you out, I give you some tips and factors to consider when choosing the best basketball to enhance your skills.

Dribbling

How to Choose the Best Basketball

When it comes to choosing the best basketball to invest in, you will need to do your research and testing. Here are tips you should consider following when doing so:

Size

The typical basketball is a size 7. It’s the most popular and used size out there, used for basketball competitions for school and professional games. The size 6 would be used for female adults in basketball competitions. If you are playing with a child, then the size 5 basketball is recommended.

Material

There are three types of materials:

Leather is best for indoor courts with smooth floors. They have a good grip despite sweating, but they are less durable and more expensive.

Synthetic material is designed for both outdoor and indoor. It’s the mist durable and will last for a long period of time. They are of average price.

Rubber is designed for both indoor and outdoor use as well, but not as professional. It’s best for those who are on a budget or aren’t serious with the sport yet. It’s also the cheapest.

Color

While the standard color is burnt orange, there are also other types of colors and designs that make it unique and easier to identify. Plus, they put personality for the basketball player in you. Choose a design or color that best suits your preferences. But if you are looking for a ball to play during professional games, go for a plain or traditional color.

In Conclusion

The basketball is a crucial part of the game. It makes or breaks the way you play and achieve your goals. That’s why it’s important to use one made out of quality materials to last for years to come. That way, you’ll be able to get the true feel and be able to practice your skills the right way.

I hope that these tips on how to choose the best basketball helped you learn what you need to consider when getting the ideal ball suitable to both your wants and needs. So what are you waiting for? You can do your research online and find the models from online shops or local athletic stores near you. So invest and enjoy the basketball for your future training sessions today.

Since you showed interest in basketball, I would like to help you choose the best shoes for basketball.

The Evolution of Surfboard Tech

September 9, 2015

Surfboards and paddleboards have come a long way since the early wooden ones used in Hawaii. Wooden boards didn’t float nearly as well as modern ones so they had to be longer and could sometimes weigh in at 150 pounds (it must’ve been a relief to drop them in the water). Because of the weight issues balsa wood was introduced much later – it is significantly lighter but not as strong as the wood of the Koa or Wili Wili or Redwood. Ancient and not-so-ancient Hawaiian surfboards had very little shape to them except for, perhaps, a pointed prow. They were as flat as the planks used to build houses which allowed for very little beyond straight-line surfing.

The biggest innovation in wooden surfboard tech came in 1926 when board weight was vastly reduced by the introduction of hollow construction. Construction was achieved using marine plywood over a lightweight frame and plenty of varnish. At the same time buoyancy was naturally improved, however board shape was still nothing like the curved short boards you see nowadays. Long, flat boards were still the norm and smooth, easy straight rides the only possibility for most surfers. However, just a little later fins were introduced giving surfers more stability and more maneuverability. Once surfers started experimenting with tail shape and once they started giving their boards some rocker (curve) modern-style surfing really began to take off. Surfers could now turn into the wave more easily and entering the barrel or tube was now possible.

By the time the second world war was over advances in technology made possible another leap in surfboard design. Fiberglass became a commonly used material in board creation. All of a sudden surfboards could be produced commercially.

Fin technology advanced greatly through the 50s, 60s and 70s. Like shaving gear and the ever-increasing number of shaving blades, fins kept getting added to the bottom of surfboards until four-fin setups became common on some boards.

Nowadays, at 6 or 7 pounds, boards are about 4% the weight of the first Hawaiian boards. The stiff polyurethane foam core covered with fiberglass and polyester resin makes for light, buoyant, tough, and easy to control boards. The latest advancements in surfboard materials include carbon fiber and kevlar which promise great durability but hefty price tags as well. Carbon fiber appears to be the ultimate material in some ways. However it is a one-color material: the only coice is black. The black color has a undeniably cool, James Bond look but unfortunately can be hard to handle in hot sun as the board will be hard to touch. If you can get a carbon fiber board to the water without burning yourself then the ride is top-notch. It goes without saying that the best boards don’t cause injury to the user.

What’s the future of surf board technology? That’s, of course, hard to predict. It seems like the ultimate in ride has been achieved, but there will no doubt be innovations that will eventually make today’s best stand up paddleboards and surfboards (http://shakasurfer.com/best-standup-paddle-board-sup/) seem passé.

Technology Is Quickly Changing How We Buy Houses

August 17, 2015

Technology is ever evolving and has changed the landscape of many businesses, some more than others. The one industry that has been changed perhaps the most by recent technology trends is the real estate industry. Before the internet was as big as it is now, if you wanted to buy a new house, you had to find a realtor and rely on them to find you houses to look at. You were at the complete will of the realtor the entire time.

Today, with sites like Zillow and all the information that is available at our fingertips, someone can look for houses on their own. They can even be specific about certain areas they want to live in, school districts, price points, and more. The main role of the realtor many times is that of gatekeeper and helping get buyers and sellers in the same room. With all the changes that have happened in the real estate market, there are some on the horizon that may dwarf everything that has come before now.

Before we get too far, I have to mention that I reached out to Zach Riggs of Trusted Missouri Realtors to get his views on all of this. He specializes in Springfield, Missouri houses for sale and is a successful and respected realtor. He gave me a lot of insight and contributed a lot to this article.

Zach said one of the things that will happen is the internet will continue to grow in usefulness to agents, and if agents are resistant, they will get left behind. He said one of the biggest places where it seems to be growing is on Facebook. He said this is because a large part of being a successful real estate agent is creating strong relationships with clients. So people come to trust an agent and will share their facebook posts. Then, when they see friends say they are moving or looking for a home, they will refer them to their agent. Zach said it’s hard to quantify how this works, but it definitely plays a role in creating a successful real estate brand.

He also said that agents should get used to the fact that they aren’t in charge anymore. Clients have almost the exact same access to listings of new homes and they will tell you where to go. An agent’s role is to make the whole process as easy as possible. Zach said he feels his role is to get them into the house and then help them decide if the home is a good fit, a good price, and if there is anything they should have checked out. He said many agents have had a hard time adjusting to this, but if you can make the adjustment, you will have a successful real estate career.

It goes without saying that technology will continue to change the way we do things and the real estate industry is going to be no different. While it may be uncertain how it’ll look in 5-10 years, you can rest assure that there will always be a place for great agents that care about the well being of their clients.

How Technology Has Tipped The Scales In The Consumer’s Favor

August 12, 2015

Technology is truly amazing. We live in a time where just about anything is possible. If it’s not possible now, in just a few years, it probably will! While it’s great to have all the gadgets and fun stuff that we have now, one thing has happened that a lot of people don’t talk about that is possibly the best thing about this day and age. It’s the fact that with technology, the scale of power has tipped in the favor of the consumer and away from the businesses.

The norm used to be different. Previously, if you wanted to purchase a product, you had to go to a store and talk to a salesman, all the while trusting what he was telling you was actually true. How else would you know? Today, we as the consumer will probably know more about a product than the guy at the local store that is selling it. And that’s even if we go to a store at all! With the internet, there are a beevy of options where we can not only find the information that we want, but purchase the stuff that we want as well.

I’ve been paying attention to this for years now and it’s a really interesting thing to witness, especially because I can remember when it wasn’t like it is now. With so much power going in the consumer’s favor, it has forced businesses to be open and honest like they have never been before. Basically, if they are inherently dishonest, then they will be found out and it doesn’t take long in this internet age for word to travel fast.

Possibly though, the one thing that has truly changed the way we shop and given us all the power is the advent of the smartphone. For examples, just the other day, I was waiting on my girlfriend (she was shopping) and I remembered that I needed to get my nephew a birthday present. His mom told me he’s been into lifting weights and said something about wanting a pair of wrist wraps (never heard of them before, but it’s his birthday). So I went to Amazon, searched for some wrist wraps and within 2 minutes I had purchased a pair from Essential Fitness Gear (you can click here if you are interested in what I’m talking about). Ten years ago, it would have been considered a pipedream to do that. Today, it’s a normal occurrence. I got my nephew a birthday present he wanted, all while not having to go to a sporting goods store and deal with the meathead trying to upsell me on something I’m completely not interested in. I call that a win/win situation!

Another part of technology has fueled the growth of internet shopping and that is the improvement of shipping methods. Shipping rates are lower and it’s quicker than ever to send and receive packages. With technology, you can order something that is sitting in a warehouse on the west coast and within 1-2 days, you can have the item on your doorstep across the country. Most people will gladly sacrifice 2 days of waiting to get something sent to them without having to deal with crowds and pushy salesmen.

All this is probably well known to you, but I think it’s important to look and analyze things in terms of how they currently stand, where they are going to go, and even where they came from.

How Technology is Changing The Home Services Industry

August 5, 2015

Uber is revolutionizing the taxi industry, AirBnB is changing the accommodation industry, Facebook is influencing how we communicate with each other and AliBaba is changing how retailers source inventory. All these technology companies are changing industries. Is it for the better? You be the judge. Today I wanted to take a look at another industry – the home services industry. How is technology – smartphone apps in particular – changing the way we choose who to hire to come and clean our windows, carpets and mow our lawns? First we’ll talk about how we used to choose and then we’ll talk about who is leading the pack how we choose now and what will the landscape look like in 15 years?

How People Are Choosing Who To Hire

Just 10 years ago the majority of people would hire a carpet cleaner either by word of mouth recommendation or the yellow pages. Those were the options. Today, the majority of us search in Google and read online reviews for who to hire. This is huge huge huge business. Think of the sheer number of cities and towns in the world and then multiply that by the number of home services you hire for. Today the big players are Yelp, Thumbtack and Google itself. These websites and apps have tons of companies in their databases and tons of reviews for each.

If you’re a lawn care specialist and you rip-off a customer you can be sure that person will write a scathing review somewhere on the internet. So technology has improved our ability to make the right choice. Let’s look at a few example how technology has changed some specific home services.

Building Exterior Cleaning and Care

A very common service people pay for is window cleaning, lawn care and home exterior cleaning like pressure washing your driveway.

You have some options: rent the equipment and do the job yourself, buy the equipment and do it yourself or hire someone to do the job for you. Let’s look at the costs involved with pressure washing your driveway. You can pick up a Kaercher medium-duty 1800psi power washer for $200. You can rent a Generac Power Systems heavy-duty unit for $80/day. Or you can pay a pressure washing contractor about $100 to do it all for you. Which do you choose? Because of technology you can now go online and start to ask contractors for quote and start to see how long it will take to make a booking. Using Yelp you can read reviews to make the decision. Back 10 years ago you would have to ring the contractor to make a booking and most of the time you would have to leave a message and then wait for call back. Today, Thumbtack cover all this and sends your job to 4 or 5 contractors who then bid on your job. You become the boss.

Equipment Rental Industry

Let’s say you hate doing maintenance on equipment so you just hire it. If you look at what Uber does it is quite likely something similar will happen in the garden equipment industry. You’ll have an app that shows equipment your neighbors have up to hire then you can book it in for like $20 a day… A fraction of the Home Depot rental cost and more convenient – they live down the street. This will revolutionize the small power equipment industry and it even has entries into things like vacuums and the like.

The Sharing Economy

This technological revolution where everyone has access to everything is called the sharing economy. You make small amounts of money by sharing what you have with others. It is coming and it will change everything.

Kitchen Tech: the Rice Cooker

July 6, 2015

Technology has had a huge impact on many areas of our modern lives. In fact one could argue that there is no part of modern man’s daily life that hasn’t been affected by technological advances. Unless you have chosen to live as a forest monk, or are in a pocket of “primitive” society in a South American jungle, your home has a kitchen stocked with strange and wondrous devices to help you make delicious and nutritious meals. One of the devices that has evolved greatly in the past decades is the rice cooker. The best rice cookers (reviews here) now have many functions that make them far more than just rice cookers now. The latest new function introduced recently by Aroma is “sauté then simmer”.

Rice cookers are super-easy to use. The basic rice-cooking function is to add water and rice, press the “on” button and wait for the cooker to do its thing. The cooker senses the change in moisture content and heat that indicates that the rice is cooked and automatically shuts off.

• Some cookers — in fact, most nowadays — have the option to switch to keeping the rice warm rather than completely shutting off.

• Another common feature is a brown rice setting that has just a slightly different temperature but is just as automatic a setting as the regular white rice setting.

• The porridge setting you find on many cookers is set to a slightly lower temperature as well and takes a little longer than it would if you did it the regular way on the stove top. The result? No crust of oatmeal on the bottom!

• Delay timers are another common feature of high-quality rice cookers. If you use a porridge setting with the delay timer setting you can have hot oatmeal or other porridge waiting for you at the appointed time in the morning.

• Common programs on many include settings for white rice – harder or softer, sushi rice, sweet rice, brown rice, and rinse-free rice.

Some cookers come with a cake setting. If you try banana bread in a rice cooker you won’t get a golden brown crust on top but you will on the bottom. It’s easy to bake brownies or pound cake and it takes much less energy than would be used in a conventional oven. Check out the following cake recipe:

Ingredients:
2 C. flour
2 tablespoons sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 C milk

1. Put flour, eggs and sugar into a mixing bowl and whisk while gradually adding the milk.
2. Pour the mixture into the rice cooker and turn the rice cooker on. Depending on the cooker you may need to turn it on two or three times to get the cake fully baked. You won’t need to turn it on again if you have a more advanced rice cooker with the “cake” function.

See? It’s incredibly easy. An added bonus of most rice cookers is that they have nonstick inner pans that make it unnecessary to grease your baking pan as well as a fairly low baking temperature to aid in keeping your kitchen cool.

Has Google Jumped The Shark?

June 12, 2015

This article was written by Jared Lee of Vibranium Internet Marketing. He is an SEO/Internet Marketing expert and is always up to date on the newest things involving Google, Yahoo, and more. You can find out more information about him by clicking here.

The term, “jumped the shark,” is one that some people may not be familiar with. It is in reference to a TV show reaching a point of no return, where people stop watching because of desperate attempts by the show-runners to revive the characters or plots. The term first came about from the show Happy Days which was big in the 1970’s and had a character named The Fonz. He gained a huge fan following because he was the quintessential cool guy on the show, with a motorcycle, leather jacket, and slicked back hair. As the show progressed through the years, story lines became boring and tired, and ratings started to drop. Around this time, in a particularly interesting episode, The Fonz literally jumped a shark. It was in that episode where people began to see that the show’s better days were behind them, hence the term “jumped the shark” was born.

I bring this up because there really is no bigger presence on the Internet than the all mighty Google. They bring information to millions, manufacture smartphones and computers, and are the one of the leading companies of innovative products. But has Google “jumped the shark?” This question has been raised due to Google breaking their golden rule of sorts over the last few years, which was simply “Don’t Be Evil.” Sounds simple enough, but when a company with that slogan begins to get involved in spying on what its users are doing, storing information about its users and even sharing that information with various government agencies, people start to notice and become concerned. So the question remains – has Google finally “jumped the shark?” I don’t know if they are there just yet, but I do believe they are on their way in a hurry.

If you ever hear that Google’s best days are behind them, that’s in the terms of them not being evil and trying to make the internet a better place for all. It’s hard to justify that your company is nothing but good when you’re snooping into users email accounts, browsing activities, and using that to market to them or turning that information over to the government willingly.

Many have made the argument that Google began offering multiple free services in an attempt to fully integrate into users’ everyday activities, and then siphon all the information they can about their users. Others have said they started out with the best of intentions, but the potential to make money off of that valuable user information was something they didn’t want to say no to. Either way, it’s beginning to look like trusting one company with your entire digital life is definitely a risk to your digital independence.

What’s even more concerning is that Google has started moving into other industries, like automobiles and bio hacking (with the goal to extend human life for decades beyond what we believe is possible today). This all starts to sound like the bad guys in big budget movies, where the evil corporation begins to try to overtake the world as greed and the world itself becomes more and more complicated, even when the company started out with the best of intentions.

But to answer the question, has Google jumped the shark? Maybe. In my personal opinion, if they haven’t yet, they probably will very soon. This doesn’t mean that Google is not going to be the leading search engine on the web or be a successful company. It just means that in terms of a company that was founded on the motto “Don’t Be Evil”, one could argue that they have, in fact, starting growing horns.

The Growing Importance of SEO

June 9, 2015

If you were to talk about SEO last year, many people would probably question what you were talking about. In fact, some people would think you meant CEO and had a slip of the tongue. However, in today’s age, with the rapid growth of the internet, SEO is becoming a much more popular term, and it’s becoming of more and more importance for those who have some type of presence on the internet.

What is SEO and why should I care?
SEO stands for search engine optimization. It’s the process where by you optimize a website so that it shows up on the first page of Google for a wide range of related key terms and phrases.

With the growth of internet use over the past decade, there are over 2 billion internet users on the internet daily and many of these users are in search for some type of information they need, whether it’s information to help them complete a school project, or information on where to find the local pizza shop.

All in all, SEO is powerful because it makes you visible to those who are looking for what you have to offer.

How is SEO Done?
There are many factors that contribute to your rankings in a search engine.

There are the onsite website factors. This would include the type of content you have on your website, keywords in the content, website structure and much more.

There is also the offsite SEO factors. This is what contributes 75% to ranking your website online. The offsite SEO factors are from links and signals pointing back to your site. These links can be obtained through social media, outreach, forums, web directories and etc.

What about Content?

Google loves high quality content that is new and fresh. Ideally, you want to be posting new and fresh content to your website periodically to let Google know that you are active on your site and that you are creating good content.

When you create high quality content, other people will also want to link out to your website as a resource. This is why there’s a good old saying that “Content is King.”

With high quality content, high quality signals will be created like a viral virus and you will begin to get a wide range of signals pointing straight back to your website.

Keeping up to date
The algorithms employed by Google, Bing, Yahoo and the many other smaller search engines is always changing and developing to better score websites for the quality they provide to users. And because of this, it might be quite tricky to really keep up with their algorithms. The strategies that were effective for ranking a site 6 months ago might not work at all today.

And as the time goes on, search engines will make it harder for their algorithms to be manipulated.

So if you are interested in ranking your website online in Google, it’s highly recommended to hire an full-time SEO specialist. A full-time SEO Specialist will understand what it takes to rank and will save you time and money going through the steps of trial and error trying to rank your website.

How Web Design Attracts You to Buy Beauty Enhancement Products

May 9, 2015

When you buy certain products online, it is easy to be enticed by the web design. However, you should go beyond that.

There are a lot of factors that will convince you to buy beauty enhancement and weight loss products. Most of the times, it really has nothing to do with the quality of the actual product. Of course, you don’t get to try them before you actually buy them. This is true especially if you buy them online. Therefore, the number one factor that will convince you to buy the product is the web design. Whether you accept this fact or not, but this is true. Human beings are visual by nature. We buy something because we like what we see. If the products are presented online via a beautiful web design, it won’t take time before we are also encouraged to buy them.

How does web design affect our choice?

When you visit certain sites online, the first thing that you will see is not the product but the model. This is what makes us easily convinced that we are making the right decision. We think that we will look like the model right away. We might think it is ridiculous, but our subconscious tells us that we can be like that. Add to that the fact that the entire website looks really easy to the eyes. Therefore, it is easier for us to be convinced that we are making the right choice. The overall feel of beauty enhancement website is so relaxed, positive and easy. Therefore, it won’t take time before you click the order button and place your order. If anything, the words placed in the website are even more enticing. There are also sections where you can read articles about the product and how good it is. Once all these elements are blended well in a beautiful web design, then you will surely be down with it in no time.

It’s about the quality

Yes, web design is really essential to attract us to buy certain products. However, in the end, it should be about quality. Do not be easily enticed just because there is a beautiful model or there are a lot of good words about the product. It should be about what the product can offer and how other people can attest to it. Read reviews and testimonials if you want to ensure that you are getting the right product. Diversity your readings since you can’t make a decision based on one review.

To top it all, you have to go for products that are tested and proven. For instance, lifecell antiaging cream has been in the market for years and people continue to trust it. If you want to know how much does lifecell cost, you can go here. On the other hand, you might also want to check out weight loss products. You can find more ideas about customized fat loss Kyle Leon at http://www.happierandhealthier.org/customized-fat-loss-men-review-best-way-lose-body-fat/. Once you have found out how good the quality is, then you will realize that it is worth the cost. Again, checking the web design is good. However, it must not seal the deal in the end.

Saving on Money When Visiting Bermuda

April 8, 2015

There is a false impression that Bermuda is a tourist trap. The reason for this can be traced to two things – the high cost of goods and tourism being the primary industry. However, it should be pointed out that the main reason for the high cost of goods is due to the importation of most items. In addition, nowadays, tourism is no longer the main source of income for the country; rather, it is banking and finance.

With regards to food, the majority of products on the market are imported. Even the bulk of bananas on the market is imported. The locally grown banana is a staple, and is the most common food stuff on the table on Sundays. The bananas that can be found in grocery stores and supermarkets are larger than the local variety; however, they is not as sweet. In general the local food is of lower quality compared to imported goods. The quality of the local banana is debatable as the imported banana is bigger and does look better than the local varieties.

Island Food

The only real exceptions to the above observation are the seafood and fishes. Bermuda is an island country, and the bounty of the sea is evident in the local fare. Also, due to the scarcity of agricultural land, the bulk of the food stuff is imported. The rice and flour bought at the store is most probably imported. If you like rice, you should check out the rice cooker reviews before buying here. This would allow you to see what would be best for you considering that rice is expensive on the island.

There are a lot of things to see in Bermuda. However due to restrictions on car ownership and rentals, it would be better to rent a moped or a bicycle. There are a lot of great places to go to where travelling on two wheels is an advantage. Some of the roads are just narrow enough to allow for two lanes. With a moped or a bicycle, it is much easier to get around the island. In addition, cars drive right. This makes riding a bicycle less of an adventure and more of a necessity.

Get a Room

If you want to enjoy your stay, you should try getting a room, an apartment or a condominium where you can cook for yourself. The homecentric.org website has a whole range of home and kitchen appliance reviews. Besides, considering the cost of dining near the tourist area becomes prohibitive very fast. The best advice is to go where the locals go. In price comparisons, most food items can go as four times that of local prices. When buying food, whether to dine at the restaurant, or for cooking at home, there are ways to save on money. Going to a store frequented by locals can save a large amount of money.

Although this advice is true for most of the world, in Bermuda it is an advice which should be followed. Even at supermarkets where the locals buy their goods, most items can have higher prices than they would in the mainland.

Technology used in contemporary crossbows

April 2, 2015

Modern technology is moving at leaps and bounds. Crossbows are no stranger to this trend either. With the ever increasing popularity of crossbows as a result of TV shows like The Walking Dead more people are looking to get into the hobby. This combined with the deregulation of crossbows for hunting in various states opens up a larger market for these unique weapons.

Reverse Draw Crossbow

One of the most recent technological advances in crossbows is the new reverse draw crossbow. This crossbow design switches the angle of the crossbar 180 degrees altering the center of gravity of the bow to be closer to the shoulder and taking the weight off of the end of the crossbow. This crossbow design is made to decrease the overall weight of a crossbow while offering similar performance and accuracy. By shifting the weight it causes less stress and strain on the user allowing for longer shooting times and increased accuracy.

CarbonLite Riser

This technology patented by Barnett removes around 43% of the weight from the riser of the crossbow shifting the overall weight back towards the shoulder. With the weight reduction it decreases the fatigue from using the crossbow while offering better stability for enhanced accuracy and better grouping of shots.

TenPoint

TenPoint is one of the leaders in advanced crossbow mechanics and technology. With over 30 patents, TenPoint continues to improve upon the overall performance of your standard crossbow. Combine this with their innovative crossbow design and you have an exceptional crossbow for hunting and target shooting. Some of these advances are;

  • Vibration Damping Device
    • Decreases the vibration of the crossbow when firing
  • Dry Fire Prevention Device
    • Prevents the firing of the crossbow when not loaded
  • Acudraw and Acudraw 50
    • Built in draw assistance system
  • Acurope
    • Portable draw assistance system

While these advances are small in nature their effect on the overall performance of TenPoint’s crossbows makes them one of the top crossbow manufacturers.

Excalibur

Like TenPoint, Excalibur is another top of the line crossbow manufacturer that offers many of its own advances to their crossbow design. Some examples of Excalibur’s innovative crossbow technology is:

Air Brakes

    • Reduces recoil energy and sound
  • Recoil energy Dissipation System (R.E.D.S)
    • Dampening pads to reduce shock, vibration and noise upon firing
  • Matrix crossbow string
    • High-performance crossbow string that enhances speed
  • The Guardian Anti-Dry-Fire System
    • A built in system that prevents drying firing without an arrow as well as allows for easy de-cocking without having to fire off an arrow

With these advancements Excalibur has a number of great additions to any crossbow to help cut back on noise as well as provide enhanced stability.

Not your mother’s crossbow

Crossbows have come a long way from their historical ancestors. With the technological advances listed above and many more currently on the market and coming out in the future crossbows are moving closer and closer to becoming the preferred weapon for hunters and target shooters alike.

How Technology Is Changing Fitness

March 30, 2015

Technology is changing at an ever rapid pace and it’s not going to slow down anytime soon. It’s changing many industries, one of those namely is the fitness industry. It’s changing so many things from supplements, how people are working out, how people are accessing their own personal information and how it relates to their health. Below, we discuss the various ways that technology is changing the fitness industry.

Supplements

If you are wanting to take some supplements, you’ve got basically two options. You can head to your local supplement store, but the issue there being you may not get an honest assessment of what certain supplements will do for you. Or you can just go on your computer and type what you’re looking for into the Google search bar. Let’s say you are looking for the best bcaa supplement, you will have a bevy of choices to choose from to help you make an educated purchase instead of relying on what some guy at the gym tells you. A website like this one we found here does a great job at helping fitness enthusiasts make good supplement purchasing choices. Also, supplements are just getting better as technology improves and customers are wanting quality products that deliver on what they promise.

Workouts

You can also access unlimited amounts of workouts from some of the biggest fitness celebrities out there as well, so you’ll never have a dull workout if you don’t want to. There are apps, websites and so many other methods of accessing more workouts than ever before. No matter what your goal is, there is a couple thousand workouts out there to help you reach that goal.

Wearable Tech

Things like FitBit, Nike Fuel band and many others making their way onto the market are completely changing the way that people interact with their vitals and performance targets. People can access their heart rate, sleep patterns, steps in a day, calories burned and much more to come. The great thing is people can then share this information with their doctor to help paint a better picture of their daily exercise routines and if any changes are needed.

Community

For the longest time, if you wanted to get in shape, it became a little bit of a lonesome journey for many because it can be hard to get your friends and family to join you or meet you at the same level that you want to be at. That’s really no longer the case with things like Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and others that help people be part of a online community. Through social media platforms, you can get encouragement, share your progress with others, and even help newcomers along their fitness journey as well.

These are just a few of the ways that technology is changing the fitness industry, with much more to come if the trend holds true. For many, this is a great time with all this information, while others, like personal trainers, may find this information a bit disturbing to how they have always done things. Like anything else, technology is changing the way many industries work and fitness is one of them. Luckily, there will always be a place for fitness professionals to provide a service, yet it may just look much different in years to come than it does right now or how it has in the past.
